EPHEMERA

Now you have it
Now you don't
Gone with the wind
Blown to kingdom come
Feeling empty as ever
without the mass
That filled your heart
now feel the weight
of utter nothingness
-Worthlessness

Oblivious of time
one valuable possesion
Snobbish of people
when under its reign
A parvenu, a protege
intoxicated by might
treading on golden
terra firma
utopia deary!
- slow down

the aftermath
never pleasant
sepulchral lives
tears, harrowing tales
belated remorse
be not piqued
by this blotting
-just live

She wants me back!

I bumped in to my ex-gal the other week
In the midst of exchanging pleasantries
She says i look good with the added weight
What do i know?
Maybe it was a compliment or maybe not
Either way she looked happy to see me, again
after months of pretentious busy-ness.
She wants me back, I guess...

The same night she called to wish me well
I forgot to mention, she asked for my number
Then she went on about us finding time
You know, to do a bit of catching up
I said "sure" why not we're still friends
And so we were on for an evening of coffee
She sounded pleased on the other side of the phone
she wants me back, I think...

We met and she confessed missing me, a great deal
I said "me too" which came out rather awkwardly
The next thing I know we are flirting very openly
She tells me to forget what separated us
Open a new leaf and start all over again
Am undecided, Does she really think I would?
She wants me back, I Know...

Now, why would I want her back with me?
Her second chances with me have run out, long ago
I admit she is smokin' hot than ever
But my conscious tells me "NO!"
Where, obviously my body is screaming "YES"
A referendum in this case will pay off greatly
She wants me back, I am afraid!

RANDOM PIECE

I would paint you a picture
Of my love for you, for they say
A picture is worth a thousand words
But to me no word enlisted in the dictionary
Can aptly define and elaborate this feeling.
You are a queen, whose glittering gown
Sparkle and dazzle the eyes of men
Strong men who bow at the presence
Of amazing beauty and splendor,
You are a master piece.

I would pen you an ode,
Preferably a sonnet each line of the fourteen
Completely laced with appraisal
For that is the only rain that should fall
On a person like you
I would hold your hands and
Blind fold you and Dance with you,
A beautiful beyond words thing, in the rain

I would sing you a song
A sweet sensational song with a voice so mellow
Yet it wouldn’t be enough to win your heart
I will sing to the highest octave, dance
To the best of my ability, but eventually
It will be you who will sing me a lovely lullaby
To put me to bed, my dreams ever being sweet
And hoping they come true!

(Am facing a writer's block. Trying to break this wall)

On a hook! By Clifford B. Okumu

To her am like an open book
She sees through my emotions
Nothing passes her-my every thought
At the palms of her hands
She has me; a fish on a hook

To her am like a sitting duck
A vulnerable sweet little thing
Feeble at heart, strong on the outside
At her mercy I always am
When she calls me I never buck

To her am like a butterfly
She chases not after me-am free
Through beautiful gardens I do my rounds
Then to her finally i come to roost
Am smitten, i can't afford to be sly

To her am like a teddy bear
Her favourite one -life size
Tossing me, squeezing me, embracing me
She keeps me in her bosom
With the warmth, am going nowhere
